See Yourself On The Inside was first created for the Revealing Bodies show in the late 1990’s. The idea was to put an image of a skeleton and other internal organs behind an half silvered mirror, and let visitors see themselves superimposed on the image. Although the body images are simple stock graphics, the experience of seeing the images super-imposed on a visitors body is stronger than that of simply seeing the images. The skeleton is not a perfect fit. But the exercise of trying to adjust it to one’s body, and noticing what fits, and what doesn’t fit, can give the visitor a better sense of your insides. Visitors like to see feel their bones and compare what they feel to what they see.
